WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
About Raising Teenagers
"Raising teenagers is like trying to nail Jell-O to a tree." A modern day proverb shared by Bob Griffin, sports anchor for KSLA-TV in Shreveport, Louisiana.
About Tension in Marriage
"Some of the things that cause tension in a marriage aren't moral issues. They aren't right or wrong. - They're just irritating. - David and Claudia Arp in Where the Wild Strawberries Grow.
About Family Trends
"If the family trends of recent decades are extended into the future, the result will not only be a growing uncertainty within marriage, but the gradual elimination of marriage in favor of casual liaisons, oriented to adult expressiveness and self-fulfillment. The problem with this scenario is that children will be harmed, adults probably no happier, and the social order could collapse." - David Popenoe in Promises to Keep.
About Church and Family
"The church can, and must, become a stabilizing influence that gives direction, healing, hope and security to marriage and families that are battered by the shock waves of change." - Gary Collins in Coping with Change.

PERCEPTIONS
"THE BERRY SPOON"
Author Unknown
Some of the unhappiest people I've ever met are those who refuse to let go of slights, injuries and offenses from the past. I recall an attempt to persuade a woman to begin attending church services. She told me a sad story about the way she had been treated by one of our members. I asked her when the incident occurred. She named a date more than forty years prior to the time we were talking. Many times I have reflected on the woman's unhappiness, all of which was unnecessary. There is absolutely no reason to bear grudges against those who have hurt us. "The Berry Spoon," written by an unknown author heightens our awareness of the high price people pay when they refuse to forgive. You can read it
