"DRINK OF HIS LIVING WATER"

GOD gives us living water to soothe a thirsty soul,
That like a watered garden can bear fruit a hundredfold.

If we commune with Him each day, to read His Word and pray,
And let His love flow through us, He protects us, come what may.

He will always walk beside us if we stay close by His side,
But if we wander from Him, full of self-desire and pride,

We will find ourselves without Him in a world that seems like fun,
And when temptations overtake us, grief and misery will come.

If worldly things attract us and we gradually partake
Of what we know does not please God, we are choosing what is fake.

Spending all our time to please ourselves or for monetary goals,
Ignoring God and what He wants, we'll develop shriveled souls.

We feed our intellects with much and think it worth the cost,
While we starve our spirits daily never thinking what we've lost.

The foolish one says, "All for me" and never stops to bow the knee,
While Satan whispers, "You are free!" and dances 'round and 'round with glee.

If Jesus came tomorrow, would you want to run and hide?
If so, your conscience tells you to come back close to His side.

Throw off the chains that bind you in unending pleasure quest.
Praise God and feel His arms of love draw you close to His breast.
