"Family Values"

We have all kinds of families here at Southern Hills...big and small, young and old, two-parent and single-parent. It is our many families that together make up our larger church family.
In I Peter 4:17, Peter refers to the church as the "family of God." Because family is so very special to me, I love to use that descriptive when speaking of the church. We are all brothers and sisters in a family where Jesus is our elder brother and God is our loving Father.
It is in the family of God that we should see all the best attributes of family. Agape love, forgiveness, caring, compassion, tenderness, joy, patience, encouragement, and security should all be seen in abundant quantities in the family of God. May we do our best to demonstrate these wonderful family qualities in the greatest family ever...the family of God!
